My genetic under-eye bags met their match.
As somebody who has genetic under-eye bags (thanks to inheriting my mother’s big beautiful eyes), I’ve tested just about every anti-aging eye treatment and under-eye cream I can get my hands on. I’ve even considered getting under-eye filler and dabbled in getting Xeomin injections to treat the area—and my fine lines, of course. But throughout my journey trying to diminish my under-eye wrinkles, I’ve always come back to Peter Thomas Roth eye masks. So much so that I’ve tried every single type the brand has, and can confidently recommend each variation for pretty specific needs. Call me the PTR eye mask whisperer.
When it comes to finding the best Peter Thomas Roth eye mask for your needs, you’ve gotta first consider what kind of outcome you desire the most. Do you want a glow? Fewer noticeable wrinkles? Less puffiness? More life? Whatever your situation is, I’ve got you covered.

Unfortunately for us all, a lot of eye masks out there get delivered and feel super dry. Whatever treatment potions they soak in somehow evaporate before we even get to plop the things on. It’s a bummer and a waste of money. All this is to say that what struck me the most about these retinol under-eye patches is how juicy they come. Seriously, you have to be careful opening these or you might spill some on your cat who never leaves your feet. Yes, I’m speaking from experience.
These magical eye masks hydrate in minutes and also treat those annoying under-eye bumps that arise after wearing makeup or trying out new skin care products. The combo of glycolic acid, niacinamide, and avocado oil work together to smooth out fine lines, rehydrate dull skin, and even minimize the appearance of dark spots. I always have these on hand in my travel bags because they seem to be the only cure for my gross airplane skin. Essentially, these benefit almost anyone for every kind of skin concern—that’s why they’re the best of the best.

Bruno Mars sang about 24-karat magic and I’m pretty sure these under-eye masks were the inspiration. The golden wonders latch onto skin and somehow bring life back to droopy, lifeless bags. The firming patches have caffeine in them, which makes sense because whenever I put these on after a rough night of sleep, my under eyes look like they belong to somebody else (who likely got 8-9 hours of ZZZs) after just 10 minutes of wear. If you struggle with sagging skin or love the feel of bouncy jelly Korean skin care, these masks are for you.

It’s a tough battle trying to depuff my face after a night of extra-dirty martinis and gossip. It’s like my skin inflates with all the secrets my girls and I spilled over dinner—and I somehow have to live with them in my pores forever (read: until the next day). On mornings when I’m feeling quite awful, I reach for these cucumber eye masks that deflate my under eyes like a hole in a balloon. They make me feel like I have my stuff together even when I can hardly move my fingers to order Thai food on Uber Eats.
Think of these like a spa for your under eyes. They smell dreamy, feel incredible, and include tea, cucumber, and aloe in the ingredients list. Truly, they’re divine.

If I drink a glass of water before noon, it’s a really good day for me and I feel like the epitome of health. I, an adult woman, live off of barely any liquids because for some reason I have no interest in them. The result? Dull skin that begs me every day to change. Will I ever? TBD. Until then, I use these quenching gel patches to make it look like I not only drank one glass of water before noon but perhaps two or three. It’s thrilling. They’re soaked in a blend of hyaluronic acid, caffeine, and marshmallow root extract (Did you know marshmallow in the form of a root and not in the form of a s’more is good for you?). These three ingredients hydrate skin and de-puff under the eyes and also make for a great makeup base. Once you use this, concealer glides on super smoothly and stays put for hours and hours.

Every day I wake up and wonder how much collagen I lost in my sleep. I look at my skin, hair, and nails, and thank my lucky stars that there’s still some life to ‘em. Then, I plop on these collagen face and eye patches and get myself ready to no longer look like the Crypt Keeper from Scooby Doo (IYKYK). These patches take care of wrinkles but they’re also supremely hydrating and bring some bounce back to skin, too. I love using these on my smile lines because even though I love smiling, I hate having visible tectonic plates on my face.

Vitamin C and under eyes are a match made in heaven—the powerhouse ingredient brightens skin and neutralizes the appearance of dark circles. Hence, why there are so many vitamin C eye creams out there. Similar to the creams and serums we love, these eye patches illuminate skin. I keep these on for around 20 minutes a session and I come out looking much more alive. I recommend using a chilled jade roller over them or keeping these babies in the fridge for optimal results.
