I even fooled my best friend.
I’ve had my eye on a pair of expensive, celebrity-worn shearling platform slippers for over a year now. And while I’ve diligently checked for restocks, the style quietly disappeared from the brand’s website altogether and they keep quickly selling out in my size at every other retailer.
Determined not to give up on my search, I was thrilled to recently come across a nearly identical version at Walmart for a fraction of the price: Bearpaw’s Snuggle Martis slippers. Since owning them, I’ve completely forgotten about the pair I coveted for months thanks to their plush comfort and warmth. As a bonus, they cost 60 percent less than the more expensive style.

The winter style can be worn as a classic slipper or cozy outdoor shoe, and it comes in three neutral color options, including cream, gray, and black. The design features a fuzzy faux shearling fabric, which covers both the interior and exterior, and an intricately stitched framing around the ankle. Their durable craftsmanship makes them versatile enough to wear anywhere, while the slip-on style offers ease to toss them on when I’m headed out the door in a hurry.
The fabric itself is warm, soft to the touch, and keeps my feet at just the right temperature—even in the 30-degree weather. The footbed is plush and cushioned, however, it still provides plenty of support that allows me to walk for miles in New York City without any aches or foot pain. I’m also a fan of the 1.25-inch platform that elevates the style. It adds such a cool design element that instantly brings together a casual outfit. I’ve worn mine with my favorite wide-leg jeans, athleisure styles, and polished loungewear.
While I was initially worried about the overall quality—as I am with pretty much any designer lookalike style before I try—I was so pleasantly surprised by how expensive they look and feel. In fact, my best friend immediately thought they were the expensive version. As soon as I informed her otherwise (and of the half-off price tag comparison), she purchased them for herself.
Head over to Walmart to snag the snuggly Bearpaw Slippers while they’re still in stock, or keep scrolling to browse more options from the brand that look so much more expensive than they are.
