Celebrities flooded to Aspen this weekend to stick their heads in the sand (or, in this case, snow) ahead of Donald Trump’s Inauguration. Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Mariah Carey all broke out their furriest coats to stay warm amidst the bitterly cold temperatures.
One has to wonder how many suitcases Bieber schlepped to Colorado given the sheer volume of outerwear she brought with her. On her most recent outing, the Rhode founder swaddled herself in an oversized coat with exaggerated lapels from Ferragamo’s resort 2025 collection, but she has also gone back into the archives on this trip. Last week, Bieber stopped for coffee wearing a faux mink coat from Ralph Lauren’s fall 1995 collection.
Kendall Jenner, who shares custody of stylist Dani Michelle with Bieber, also came prepared with furry fashions. Between the Nicolas Ghesquière-era Balenciaga coat she paired with a black beret and the fur-trimmed skirt set she wore to dinner with Bieber, her sister Kylie, and niece Stormi, Kendall managed to incorporate the motif into every outfit.
Yesterday, while their sister Kim Kardashian was busy posting a photo of Melania Trump to her Instagram stories, her youngest sisters avoided politics altogether, enjoying lunch in coordinating furry coats. Over a white tee, black leather pants, and brown leather boots, Kendall wore a coyote coat with an embroidered lining. Kylie, on the other hand, opted for a cropped camel-colored faux fur coat with a matching belt from Darkpark.
Though Mariah Carey was, by all accounts, not hitting the slopes with the Jenner-Bieber party, she did get the sartorial memo. Embracing the color du jour, the Christmas diva wore a knee-length knit mahogany dress with matching gloves and brown knee-high suede boots. She opted for a more golden toned coat to create dimension.
While wearing a faux fur coat in the snow isn’t exactly groundbreaking, the streets of Aspen have offered a bounty of inspiration over the past few weeks.
