Celebrities have thrown the seasonal color palette rules out the window this season—starting off strong with Jeremy…Strong in a divisive seafoam at the 2025 Golden Globes via Loro Piana, and Andrew Scott on the same night giving Smurf in a delightful shade of Tiffany blue in Vivienne Westwood.
Now Katie Holmes has reached into her wardrobe for a surprising, spring-harkening shade of minty green. Stepping out in New York on January 11 for the matinee of her Broadway production Our Town, the actor defaulted to her usual chic and cozy fashion formula: her beloved slate grey beanie, and a wool calf-length coat with big black sunglasses. She wore a pastel green knit sweater, and a lighter, mintier shade pair of denim pants. On her feet too, her go-to, crisp white sneakers: the Autry Medalist low-top leather and suede sneakers. Unlike her usual theater runs, Holmes was sans two venti Starbucks cups, and instead carried her black leather tote and various carrier bags. Even when she’s leaning into the bag ladyness of the early morning rush, she manages to look chic.
Just yesterday, Holmes was also spotted in her beloved Penny Lane-esque coat, a sumptuous leather and shearling lined coat from Kuzyk. It was a silhouette more in keeping with Holmes’s relaxed, everywoman style, with light wash jeans, those go-to sneakers, and the aforementioned and capacious black leather tote.
With just a week left of Our Town on Broadway, we may only have a few street style shots left for bolstering our winter wardrobes—so take notes. Cosy textured coats, barrel jeans, and now, subversive shades of pastel.
