Katie Holmes has a covetable Fall and Winter wardrobe. She’s spotted frequently—appropriately bundled up—running to and from rehearsals and showings of the Broadway production of Our Town. From an Aspen-aspirant shearling ski jacket from Kyiv-based brand Ienki Ienki, to a collar-up navy blue peacoat (on top of which she added a blinged out belt to do some cinching), and a classic trench for looking chic on the rainiest of days: you can trust that Holmes knows her way around outerwear.
Photographed January 10 in New York City, Holmes chose a familiar piece to bundle up in: a luxurious black leather coat with thick off-white shearling lapels and cuffs from Kuzyk. Hitting below the knee with an oversized hood and large patch pockets, it’s perfect for the big chill. Underneath, she wore a grey cardigan and light blue wash denim jeans, with white sneakers, a beanie, dark sunglasses, and a go-to black leather tote.
The Penny Lane style coat has become a bit of a callback piece for Holmes this Winter—it’s tantamount to have a certified chic and cozy coat to throw on when dressing for freezing temperatures, and the dressing gown and slippers combo calls.
The actor keeps a sleek wardrobe of forever pieces, from coats to denim and accessories. A clean, leather tote bag usually finishes off her daytime fashion formula, with Holmes reaching for her beloved Manu Atelier handbag most often. Barrel jeans are also a shape of denim she seems to love, and ballet flats are regularly trotted out for gliding around NYC. Corduroy, teddy fuzz, and plaid abound.
With just a week left of Holmes’ Broadway show, it may be a case that we see her batten down the hatches for a while—ergo, less sumptuous Winter street style shots. I’m already in mourning.
