Go-big-or-go-home glamour ruled the red carpet.
Tonight, award season kicked off with the star-studded Golden Globe Awards, a show bursting with star power, as it brings together the biggest names in film and television. While the fashion was predictably show-stopping, the beauty looks that added the final touch were just as worthy of the spotlight.
Go-big-or-or-go-home hair dominated the night, and leading the pack was none other than Nicole Kidman. The Babygirl star looked every bit the Old Hollywood bombshell with a voluminous bouffant. And she wasn’t the only one; the retro style was also worn by The Substance’s Margaret Qualley, who topped hers off with a sleek metallic headband. Of course, you couldn’t have missed Emma Stone’s new pixie, a Mia Farrow-esque crop she’s embracing after shaving her head for her upcoming role in Bugonia. A new wave of stars also joined Stone in the fiery redhead camp, from Zendaya with her crimson waved bob to Rachel Brosnahan’s sleek waist-grazing half-up.
On the makeup front, tried-and-true classics like cat eyes, soft blush, and nude lips ruled the red carpet. Exemplary standouts in this spirit included Blink Twice director Zoë Kravitz, Shōgun's Anna Sawai, and Wicked's Cynthia Erivo, who each embraced all three in fresh and gorgeous fashion.

To set her pin curls, her hairstylist, Coree Moreno, set her lengths in rollers and curled extensions with ghd’s Curve Classic Curl Iron for extra texture.
Cynthia Erivo

Fresh, natural skin strobed with L’Oréal Paris Lumi Le Glass Stick in 610 Glassy Pearl Eclat and a deep rose lip finished the look.

Ariana Grande
Tonight, Ariana Grande garnered Audrey Hepburn comparisons with her soft, side-swept fringe, powdery pink cheeks, and doe-eyed makeup. And if even her color reminded you of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s star, it’s no coincidence. Grande’s colorist gave her a set of bright, chunky, Holly Golightly-inspired highlights ahead of the show.
Viola Davis
