Celebs and singers showed up in luxriously loud fashions at the 66th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 4th, 2024. 

Early standouts from the night included E! Live From the Red Carpet host Laverne Cox, who looked ravishing in a fiery vintage Comme des Garçons number, and Janelle Monae in a black Giorgio Armani gown, both donning the dominating colors of the evening.

Elsewhere on the trend front, Coco Jones took the chainmail look into the mermaidcore arena in a scintillating seafoam sheer and sequined Celia Kritharioti gown, and Ella Balinska sent commenters into a tizzy with their cinched and sheer corsetted look by Dolce & Gabbana. Despite having more or less sat out for this year’s biggest red carpet events, cut-outs made a major comeback in some very major looks, including Kat Graham’s pristine Stephane Rolland gown and Dua Lipa’s hip-baring dress custom-made by Courréges. Other red carpet moments that will surely have people talking include Miley Cyrus, who made jaws drop in a netted Maison Margiela design with Barbarella-inspired hair, and Taylor Swift in a white custom Schiaparelli gown worn with black opera gloves.

What’s black and white and chic all over? Taylor Swift on the 2024 Grammys red carpet. Swift’s custom Schiaparelli gown delivered Old Hollywood sartorial drama while her accessories, including layered necklaces and velvet opera gloves, kept the look feeling fresh and modern.

Our jaws are still on the floor as we process the fact that Olivia Rodrigo’s Versace gown is older than she is. The cream floor-length archival piece, dotted with blush pink rhinestones, served up scintillating vintage vibes. Bulgari jewels added a sparkle to her timeless look.

Combining two major red carpet trends — rosettes and liquid micro-sequin texture — Janelle Monáe's strapless Giorgio Armani Privé gown fit like a glove. Her accessories, especially her refined choker necklace, gave the look a sleek and polished feel.

Kat Graham in Stephane Rolland Couture

Kate Graham’s Stephane Rolland Couture gown was all clean lines, sharp angles, and one major cut-out moment. From the cape to the structured shoulders and ivory opera gloves, there was lots to love about this mega-watt look – including her Sterling Forever jewelry.

Dua Lipa in custom Courrèges and Tiffany & Co. jewelry

Dua Lipa sparkled in a custom Courrèges sequined gown and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Equally evocative of this season's chainmail and micro-fringe runway trends, Dua Lipa's look also featured blink-and-you-'ll-miss-it cut-outs at the star's hips and semi-sheer bell sleeves.

Laverne Cox in vintage Comme des Garçons and U Los Angeles jewelry

Cox dove into the designer archives yet again for her 2024 Grammys look. Her vintage Comme des Garçons had the same structure and shine as her Emmys outfit, a vintage Thierry Mugler gown, in a brand new, evocative silhouette.

Ella Balinska in Dolce & Gabbana

Ella Balinska went for a structured and sheer look straight off the 2024 Dolce & Gabbana Ready-to-Wear runway. The visible boning in her gown served to heighten the long lines of an already leggy look.

Victoria Monét in Versace

While there was no shortage of structured silhouettes on the 2024 Grammys red carpet, there was something special about Jordin Sparks' Zigman look. The contrast between the curve-hugging gown itself and the high-shine overbust corset made us do a double-take.

The Best New Artist nominee showed up to the red carpet in a midriff-baring black Chanel look and was joined by her famous parents to the red carpet. Showing such a major look so early in her career is surely a tale tell sign of her future fashion domination.

The Little Mermaid herself looks magnificent in a sheer, skin-tone silk tulle embellished with crystal beading and fringe designed by Sabato De Sarno for Gucci. Her plunging neckline was accentuated by a crystal lariat necklace.

Lana Del Rey in Vivienne Westwood

Gothic baby doll dresses will never be the same after Lana Del Rey showed up in a sheer lacey black frock that featured puffed sleeves and matching bow gloves. While this may read as prim on paper, the look had just the right amount of edge to it.

Doja Cat in Dilara Findikoglu

Doja Cat left onlookers in awe as she sashayed down the red carpet in a practically naked gown from edgy designer Dilara Findikoglu. The sheerness of her gown was the perfect way to highlight her impressive splattering of tattoos.

Coi Leray in Saint Laurent

Leray looked spectacularly sultry in an archival long-sleeved bodysuit from Saint Laurent with sheer tights and voile tights. Diamond drop earrings and a shimmering watch from Jacob & Co. polish off the look.

Lainey Wilson in Balmain and Pomellato
