Healing through heels.
If Barbie broke her foot, her cast would probably look a lot like Kim Kardashian’s—because, yes, she currently has her foot set in a permanent heeled cast. The Skims founder, who fractured her foot earlier this month, showed off her unusual cast in a photo on her Instagram Stories. Apparently, she found a doctor who was willing to wrap her foot and her wedged shoe in a cast—with an open-toe to allow her red pedicure to peek through, naturally.
While it's not clear that the cast medically sound, what is certain is that Kardashian's dedication to fashion will not be deterred by something as trivial as a broken foot.
According to her later Instagram Stories, Kardashian also attended a Billie Eilish concert in Los Angeles, wearing a cropped white T-shirt, a sparkly choker, and two pearl necklaces with cross pendants for the occasion. Based on photos published by TMZ, she arrived at the concert on a knee scooter and didn’t appear to be wearing her heeled cast, so there’s a chance it was a short-lived accessory.
Kardashian hasn’t let her broken foot get in the way of her fashion—and it also hasn’t stopped her from doing business. In fact, last week, she was spotted scooting around New York City in a pair of heels and a knee scooter at the opening of her Skims store on Fifth Avenue.
As Kardashian told Women’s Wear Daily, the opening was “such a proud moment.” She added, “When we started Skims, we obviously had high hopes, but I never thought of retail and how that would look. We were very focused on direct-to-consumer and everything online.”
She also opened up about how she plans to tackle the holiday season with her injury. "I'm supposed to go skiing in two weeks and I may just wrap my foot," she said. "One doctor said I could so we'll see.
"There is no way I can go through a season without wearing these North Face Skims clothes," she added referring to the new Skims x North Face collaboration.
