Bella Hadid starring in Yellowstone was not on our 2024 bingo card—but on Sunday night, the supermodel made a surprise appearance on the final season of the hit Paramount series. Hadid emerged to play Sadie, who is the girlfriend of Taylor Sheridan’s character, Travis. We first meet Sadie when (the incredible) Beth Dutton pays a visit to Travis. “You the masseuse?” Sadie asks as she opens the door, to which Beth quips back, “Do I look like a fucking masseuse?” Later on, we see Sadie again at a horse auction, when Beth asks her why she’s even with Travis at all. “You ever seen him ride before?” Sadie asks, to which Beth responds, “OK, yeah, I get it.”
Hadid’s cameo on the show is not totally out of left field. For starters, the model’s boyfriend Adan Banuelos is a successful rodeo star and equestrian. (In 2017, he was even inducted into the National Cutting Horse Hall of Fame.) Since they began dating, both he and Hadid have embraced country-western couple style—their wardrobes filled with loads of denim, leather chaps, and of course, cowboy hats. Hadid, suddenly, has immersed herself into the world of professional rodeo (though she has been a longtime rider herself)—a vibe that is well-suited to her entering the Yellowstone universe. It was only a matter of time.

Naturally, we couldn’t help but take notice of her perfect western fashions on the episode. Costume designed by Johnetta Boone, the wardrobe for Sadie mimicked the plaids and denims Hadid has been wearing off-screen. “Working with the supermodel Bella Hadid was of course incredible,” Boone tells Vogue. “The trickiest of all was to be sure we held true to her character. We added casual western elements that helped us greatly with that.” The model's look revolved around a small clipped men’s ribbed tank. “We paired it with a pair of HAALA jeans, which fit her perfectly,” says Boone. “[She also wore] vintage boots of her own, and tipped the brim of her hat with a Brim Biter by Hallett Peak.” Plucking a piece from her own closet for the show? How very method dressing of her. Now, let’s make her a series regular, stat.
