Let the Métiers d’Art 2025 runway inspire you.
Each December, Chanel unveils its Métiers d’Art collection, showcasing clothes that celebrate the craftsmanship of the French ateliers the house collaborates with and an abundance of holiday beauty inspiration. True to form, this year’s 2025 show in Hangzhou, China, delivered with dramatic winged eyes that served as an edgy, cool-girl touch above glistening tweed sets, flowing silk dresses, and cozy bouclé coats.
Backstage, the elongated wings were customized according to each model’s individual eye shape, with Le Liner De Chanel Noir in 512 Profond traced in a thick straight line following the shape of the upper eyelid and winged outward. Pro tip: The wing should be angled slightly upward, so that it creates that lifted, feline-like effect. Then, Ombre Essentielle eyeshadow in 246 Bois Noir was layered on to intensify the shape. The final touch? A swipe of Mascara Le Volume De Chanel in 10 Noir on the upper lashes to add volume and enhance the overall cat-eye effect.
While a festive red lip or shimmering eye makeup are perennial holiday party go-tos, the Chanel runway has us considering a more unexpected–and equally, if not more impactful–winged eye à la Christmas queens The Ronettes for our next fête.
