It also featured a thigh-high slit.
Rihanna may be busy designing her own shoe line at Puma, but that didn’t stop her from stepping out at the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday, December 4—this time to support her partner, A$AP Rocky. This year, Rocky won Best Collaboration for his work with the German sports brand; Rihanna, meanwhile, stood by his side in an absolutely stunning custom gown from Alaïa.
The gown featured a plunging collared neckline that reached halfway down the singer’s torso—showing off her sternum tattoo—as well as an equally daring thigh-high slit. She paired the look with strappy Manolo Blahnik sandals that wrapped halfway up her calfs and a sparkling choker courtesy of Chrome Hearts. Her glam, of course, was all Fenty Beauty.
“It feels incredible, I’m so proud,” she said in a red carpet interview with WWD. “He’s been influencing the fashion world culturally for a very long time, and to see him being honored for it, it’s something that I can’t even put into words how proud I am. He deserves it, and it’s about time.”
Rocky’s collaboration with Puma comes eight years after Rihanna won shoe of the year with the brand in 2016. The Fenty x Puma sneaker then returned in 2023 after a six-year long hiatus. Rocky, meanwhile, has served as creative director of the brand’s Formula 1 partnership since 2023.
“This collaboration means the world to me,” he told Footwear News. “I’m really excited about this collaboration because when we first started off, it felt like we were the underdogs.”
The couple, who are parents to two sons, RZA and Riot, have been spotted at a number of events this fall, including the Fashion Awards in London on December 3 and Moncler’s The City of Genius event in Shanghai. For the latter event, Rihanna turned heads in a Britney Spears-coded catsuit.
