The 'Emily in Paris' star pulled out all the stops at the premiere of 'The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical.'
The devil wears Prada, but Lily Collins wears Vivienne Westwood.
Throughout her recent press tour for Emily in Paris season 4, Collins opted for a chic, understated French girl look that couldn’t have been more at odds with her character’s flamboyant style. She wore classic blazers, a gray wool Gucci romper, and a sheer little black dress. Last night, however, the actor swapped out her French girl style for something a little more British: While attending the world premiere of the West End musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, she donned a show-stopping gown that was designed by London’s own Vivienne Westwood.
The golden dress was made with a sheer, bedazzled fabric that featured a corseted bodice with an elegant, off-the-shoulders neckline with draped fabric in the front. After gathering at the waist, the dress fell into a chic maxi skirt with a bold thigh-high slit on one side. At the back, the sheer dress revealed a thong detail.
Collins wore her blunt bob in a slick center part and kept her jewelry minimal. She finished off the look with a pair of glamorous nude open-toe heels.
The Devil Wears Prada is a new musical featuring music by Elton John and starring Vanessa Williams as the iconic Miranda Priestly. Collins is also currently working on the West End in between seasons of Emily in Paris. She stars in Bess Wohl’s play Barcelona alongside Money Heist’s Álvaro Morte.
As Collins told WhatsOnStage during the play’s opening night in October, “My dream is the West End…I grew up seeing plays and musicals on Broadway, so honestly the stage is a whole medium that I just have always wanted to be a part of.”
