There’s no question that Jennifer Aniston is a forever beauty icon and the ultimate definition of goals. The Morning Show star has managed to keep her skin plump, tight, and glowing, making people of all ages aspire to look as youthful as the 55-year-old. Inspired by her signature no-makeup makeup look and healthy, radiant complexion, we tapped the experts, including her facialist, Joanna Czech, for the inside scoop on Jennifer Aniston’s skin-care routine and everything the actress does to look this good.
Meet the expert
- Joanna Czech is a celebrity esthetician and the founder of Joanna Czech Skin Care.
- Dr. Joshua Zeichner, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist.
- Dr. Marissa Garshick MD, is a board-certified dermatologist.
Her Daily Skin-Care Routine
Aniston’s facialist, Joanna Czech, says the actress’s best-kept secret to skin that always looks healthy and glowing is her lifestyle. “She is consistent and disciplined in living a healthy lifestyle. It’s not just the products she uses, but she’s also a great student.”
The cornerstones of her skin-care routine are simple: lots of sleep, daily use of sunscreen and gentle cleansers, drinking plenty of water, and keeping her skin well-protected and hydrated. One moisturizing product Aniston likes to keep her skin hydrated and perfectly prepped for makeup is Tatcha The Serum Stick ($49), a moisturizing serum in stick form. “I like that this product has several benefits and that you can incorporate it into your routine differently,” Dr. Garshick says. “Apply it over makeup or as the last step in your skin-care routine to lock in moisture. It delivers targeted hydration and smooths fine lines and creases, especially around the eyes and mouth.” Dr. Zeichner adds that since the stick comprises 80% squalane, an emollient oil that helps protect and repair the skin barrier, it helps fill in cracks between cells in the outer skin layer to soften and hydrate rough skin.
At night, Aniston treats her skin with a dose of retinol, specifically the Shani Darden Retinol Reform Treatment Serum ($90). “Retinol is perhaps the best studied anti-aging ingredient that we have to fight the signs of aging,” Dr. Zeichner shares. “It is known to stimulate the production of collagen and elastic fibers to strengthen the skin’s foundation and improve the appearance of wrinkles.”
Aniston has also revealed on TikTok that she does at-home ice facials. This involves filling a bowl with ice and water and splashing her face with the water 25 times to wake up her skin, energize it, and tighten it. Dr. Zeichner says using ice-cold water on the face can also help calm inflamed skin and constrict blood vessels to reduce facial redness.
Her Go-To Face and Eye Masks
From time to time, you may catch Aniston sporting under-eye masks and sheet masks on her Instagram stories. According to Dr. Zeichner, eye masks are a good way to help hydrate, soothe and protect the sensitive skin around the eyes. “They are also a great option when the skin is dry, puffy, or irritated,” he adds.
Aniston’s favorites include 111 Skin’s Anti-Blemish Bio Cellulose Mask ($135) and Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Mask ($100). “The 111 Skin mask is particularly effective for someone like Aniston, who values clear, glowing skin. Its dual-action approach of treating blemishes while hydrating makes it a great option for all skin types, including sensitive or mature skin,” Dr. Garshick says.
Her Favorite Facial Tools
It’s no surprise that Aniston has access to the best and most innovative skin-care tools. A few in her arsenal include at-home red light masks, ZIIP Halo ($399), which is powered by nanocurrent and microcurrent technologies, and Jillian Dempsey’s Gold Sculpting Bar ($195), a gold-plated vibrating bar that helps to lift, sculpt and depuff the skin. “Since the sculpting tool uses vibrations to stimulate facial muscles and works to reduce puffiness, sculpt, and tone, incorporating it into a skin-care routine can contribute to firmer, healthier-looking skin from the comfort of your home,” Dr. Garshick says.
Her Favorite In-Office Treatments
The viral salmon sperm facial has made its way onto the actress’s famous face. Different from salmon sperm injections, the topical facial version, which employs microneedling to push the salmon sperm into the skin, is believed to help deliver skin benefits for a healthy glow. Although Aniston gushed about the treatment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she also fessed up to not seeing much in terms of results from it but calls it the future of anti-aging skin care.
According to Dr. Zeichner, salmon sperm facials help deliver polynucleotides to the skin. “These small DNA fragments may also help enhance skin, cell turnover, and collagen production.” Another benefit of the facial? It’s believed to help restore a youthful vibrance and vitality to the skin, making it a go-to anti-aging treatment.
Aniston is also purportedly a fan of non-invasive Thermage treatments, which rely on radiofrequency energy delivered under the skin to help stimulate collagen production and tighten and smooth the skin. “The benefits of routine Thermage treatments include skin tightening, softening fine lines and wrinkles, and boosting collagen production,” says Dr. Garshick.
Naturally, Aniston has a few high-profile skin experts on speed dial to tend to her complexion, including Czech. She says, “Every time I see Aniston for a treatment, I perform something different and customized to her skin’s current condition and needs.”
Her Inside-Outside Approach
Jennifer practices an inside-out approach to wellness and healthy, age-proofed skin. Collagen is believed to increase moisture, elasticity and hydration when taken orally, making it a staple in her routine. As the chief creative officer of Vital Proteins, she takes wellness from within seriously. Dr. Garshick says that while applying collagen topically to the skin is limited by penetration, there is some suggestion that oral collagen, formulated into peptides or hydrolyzed collagen, may help improve skin health.
