Can you believe that Martha Stewart is in her 80s? One look at her face, and you’d think that was a blatant lie, but Stewart knows what she’s doing when it comes to taking care of her skin and her body. If you’ve been a fan and have found yourself deep diving into Martha Stewart’s skin-care routine (hi, hello, us!), chances are, you’ve come across her love for one brand in particular—Mario Badescu.
“Martha has been getting our signature European Facials and using her favorite products from Mario Badescu for well over 40 years,” says Carmela Barabas, Martha’s aesthetician and facialist at Mario Badescu. “I've had the pleasure of giving her facial treatments that have always left her skin looking fresh, glowing, and radiant.”
If you want to age gracefully like Martha Stewart, we’d like to start by saying, “You’re welcome. " We found out the exact skin-care products and in-office treatments she loves below.
Martha’s Daily Skin-Care Regimen
According to Barabas, there are 11 products in Martha Stewart’s skin-care routine that she has consistently used over the years. And while we’re assuming she doesn’t use all 11 every single day, rather, it depends on her skin’s needs in each particular instance, each of these products is a standout in its own right. We’d suggest looking at your own skin first (do you have acne-prone, dry, normal, oily, or combo skin?), and from there, deciding if any of the following products she uses could work for you!
Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater
This refreshing mist is a Mario Badescu best-seller for a reason. Jam-packed with aloe, herbs, and rosewater, it is multi-tasking and instantly hydrating. It revives dry, thirsty skin, giving it the boost it so desperately needs. It can be used throughout the day to refresh makeup or spritzed on during a skin-care routine.
Vitamin C Serum
Did you know that our bodies don’t naturally produce vitamin C? That’s why it’s so important to incorporate it into our skin-care routines! Martha loves this serum because of its brightening and antioxidant properties. Plus, it’s anti-aging and feels incredibly lightweight on the skin, resulting in improved texture and even a reduction in the appearance of fine lines.
Super Collagen Mask
Meant to be used two to three times a week, this collagen mask is formulated with kaolin clay, working with oatmeal, red algae, and other superstar ingredients to smooth, soothe, and rehydrate the skin.
Peptide Renewal Serum
This anti-aging serum is another go-to for Martha Stewart’s skin-care routine. It’s crafted with peptides and sodium hyaluronate, working to “deliver ultra-intense moisture and hydration for a softer, smoother, revitalized complexion,” according to Barabas.
Peptide Renewal Cream
The Peptide Renewal Cream goes hand in hand with the serum, but works as more of a complexion booster while reducing the appearance of fine lines and tightening the skin.
Herbal Hydrating Serum
If you deal with dry or dehydrated skin, you’re going to fall in love with this serum Martha has been known to use. Loaded with glycolipids and glycerin, this dewy product will leave you with a boost of hydration in the form of an oil-free formula.
Super Rich Olive Body Lotion
Martha doesn’t skip out on body care, and you shouldn’t, either! This body lotion has a rich, luxe feel, leaving skin moisturized, soft, and smooth thanks to the inclusion of olive oil and lanolin.
Cellufirm Drops
After applying a few of these drops to your face and following with a moisturizer, your skin will have a more supple feel to it. Anti-aging and full of replenishing collagen and sodium hyaluronate, it’s no surprise Martha reaches for this youth-bringing product.
Vitamin C Cream
Vitamin C, niacinamide, and carrot root extract are the star ingredients of this lightweight moisturizer. Continued use will lead to a brighter skin tone, an improvement in your skin’s elasticity, and an overall glow.
Hyaluronic Dew Cream
Another product that Barabas tells us Martha likes is this Hyaluronic Dew Cream, which is formulated with sodium hyaluronate, squalane, and aloe vera. If you’re going for glass-like skin, this is the product you need to incorporate into your routine.
Caffeine Eye Cream
We wholeheartedly believe in using an eye cream preventatively in your 20s and continuing to use it as the decades pass on. This one is infused with caffeine, meant to wake the eye area up and reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.
Martha’s In-Office Treatments
European Facial and Pearl Treatment
Martha has been going to the Mario Badescu spa in New York City for years and has always been drawn to the European Facial, which goes for $65 and lasts for 60 minutes. Barabas describes the deep-cleansing facial to us, detailing, “We start with our famous European Facial, which begins with detoxifying steam, pore cleansing extractions, a light face and neck massage followed by a variety of customized masks to leave the skin looking and feeling rejuvenated. During the facial, we apply the Pearl Treatment, a blend of mineral-rich pearl powder and hyaluronic acid to brighten and add intense moisture.”
Gold and Q10 Eye Treatment
Barabas notes that Stewart will occasionally opt for other treatments to go along with her European Facial, including both the Gold and the Q10 Eye treatments. “Additional treatments include the Gold Treatment, which provides deep hydration, giving the skin a dewy glow, along with the Q10 Eye Treatment, a collagen-infused eye treatment that works to brighten, smooth, and firm the eye area.”
