The superstar multi-hyphenate glows in the Palace of Versailles.
Since Rihanna was announced as the new face of Dior’s iconic J’Adore fragrance, we’ve been waiting for the inevitable visual feast that would be the campaign. Today, we finally have our first look.
In the debut image, Rihanna is captured by longtime friend and collaborator, photographer Steven Klein, in where else but the Palace of Versailles (diehard fans may remember her appearing in Dior’s “Secret Garden IV” campaign back in 2015). RiRi is a honey-dipped vision, her golden glow awash in sunlight and framed by her sleek caramel-blonde waves, the gilded walls of the Hall of Mirrors behind her.
“Being the new face of J’Adore is both an honor and a mission,” Rihanna, who is making history as the first Black woman to become the face of J’Adore, tells WWD. “This scent that I have known and loved for so long means so much to women. I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”
It’s a universal rule: Rihanna will always leave us wanting more. But fear not; the full campaign video will arrive on September 1.
