Get you a girl who can do it all.
Michelle Obama—poignant public speaker, advocate, and former first lady—can make fire points and do it in style. After breaking the internet over the weekend with her viral speech to men about voting for the women they love, Mrs. Obama stepped up to the plate again in the perfect fall outfit formula, complete with some polarizing denim.
On Monday, Obama attended her a rally for her nonprofit When We All Vote in Georgia, where she gave another moving speech while wearing a sleeveless, cream-colored cable-knit sweater with frayed edges, which she styled with baggy distressed stonewash jeans with mismatched pockets.
Her accessories—giant gold Jennifer Fisher earrings, gold bangles, and vibrant beaded bracelets—were as bold as her address. The trailblazer wore her braids in a high ponytail with face-framing strands left out in the front. A sharp cat-eye liner and a glossy lip completed her glam.
With Election Day less than a week away, Obama encouraged young voters to get out there and and make their voices heard.
“Since you’ve got the honor of living in the great state of Georgia, a swing state, maybe think about this: Y’all, if you got and get a crew together, you can decide, you can decide who sits in the Oval Office,” she said to the college students at the rally. She also reminded them of the extremely close results in Georgia during the 2020 election.
“Four years ago, the presidential race in Georgia was decided by less than 12,000 votes,” she continued. “So, let’s get this done, Georgia!"
She also called on the voters to "stop the spiral of disillusionment and apathy. It's our job to show folks that two things can be true at once: that it is possible to be outraged by the slow pace of progress and be committed to your own pursuit of that progress."
She added, "It is possible to be disheartened by what's happening and still choose to do everything in your power to make it better, to speak out, to organize, to donate and yes, vote."
