Since 2022, adidas has established itself as the most prolific sneaker brand among the street style set—and it's all thanks to some master collaborations. The Wales Bonner collab was an unprecedented success, especially when the designer revisited the Samba, the most popular style of all. However, some celebrities have been opting for less sought-after pairs. Such is the case for Bella Hadid.
Spotted in the streets of New York, the model attended an adidas event wearing a signature red jersey and a pair of rarely-seen sneakers. Enter the SL 72 OG, which are about to dethrone the Samba. As their name suggests, these "Super Light" silhouettes were first launched in 1972 to equip athletes at the Munich Olympic Games. They revolutionized running and were intended to be worn between competitions.
Earlier this year, Hadid was spotted wearing another pair, which she styled with an aged-effect brown leather jacket worn over a tank top, as well as vintage Levi's with a brown belt and gold buckle.
Thanks in part to Bella Hadid, all signs are pointing to a SL 72 OG comeback in 2024.
