These Centre Court spectators understood the assignment.
Welcome to Wimbledon season. The most luxurious tennis tournament of the year is underway, and let’s just say the street style looks are serving—pun very much intended. But rather than adhere to the infamous all-white dress code prescribed to players, Wimbledon’s attendees are pulling out all the (very colorful) stops. From preppy stripes and Gucci blazers to patterned crop tops and pinstripes, these spectators are perfectly comfortable stepping into the spotlight at Centre Court. With Kate Middleton notably absent from the Royal Box this year, there’s a bit of a vacuum when it comes to star power—and plenty of well-dressed celebrities poised to fill it.
Ahead, all of the best street style looks spotted at Wimbledon this year so far.
Poppy Delevingne
Sometimes impeccable tailoring is the whole point of the outfit. For day one of Wimbledon, Poppy Delevingne wore a streamlined ivory blazer and a white button-up shirt from Ralph Lauren. Voluminous cream pants and delicate sandals balanced the look.
Golda Rosheuvel
The reigning queen of Bridgerton arrived for day one of Wimbledon festivities in a polished red and white striped shirt dress complete with matching white pumps.
Jodie Turner-Smith
CFDA mentor Jodie Turner-Smith stepped out on day eight of the tournament in a colorful ensemble courtesy of Ralph Lauren. She paired purple pants and a green wrap crop top with a silky bomber jacket and a yellow headscarf.
David Beckham
The internet's favorite footballer wore a crisp summer suit for day one of his hometown's tennis tournament, paired with a knit tie from Hugo Boss.
Salma Hayek
Actress Salma Hayek wore head-to-toe Gucci on day seven of Wimbledon. She kept it casual with a striped shirt under her tweed blazer and trousers and paired the whole ensemble with an iconic Jackie handbag.
Amelia Dimoldenberg
Chicken Shop Date host and London local Amelia Dimoldenberg donned a Ralph Lauren vest and trouser set for day eight of Wimbledon, a clever nod to the fact that most men attending the tournament are expected to wear suits.
Paige Lorenze
Dairy Boy founder Paige Lorenze wore a classy drop-waist polka dot dress to day three of Wimbledon. The preppy-slash-glam look was designed by Self Portrait.
Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole Scherzinger’s tailored cream dress served quiet luxury on day eight of Wimbledon. She accessorized the look with a pair of Cartier sunglasses and a black Fendi bag.
Maria Sharapova
Retired tennis legend Maria Sharapova returned to Centre Court on day three of Wimbledon in a khaki, safari-style Burberry suit. The star, who won Wimbledon as a 17-year-old back in 2004, left the sport for good in 2020 following various injuries.
