Here’s why I love each and every shade.
Beauty is a playful and personal mode of expression. There's no wrong way to explore it as long as you're having fun. Enter: Test Mode, a series in which InStyle puts the latest buzzy makeup, nails, skin care, and hair care launches to the test.
When I first heard that Hailey Bieber's beauty brand, Rhode Beauty, was launching a blush collection, I knew I had to have every single one. These buzzy sticks are the brand's second foray into color cosmetics and the perfect complement to the beloved lip tints, especially for summer. So, I went ahead and tested all six shades to confirm they're worth the hype.
The blush range features piggy (baby pink), freckle (neutral peach), spicy marg (bright coral), sleepy girl (soft mauve), juice box (hot pink), and toasted teddy (bronze terracotta). All of these shades are cocktailed with a touch of white pigment (titanium dioxide), allowing the shades to read true-to-color on your skin rather than having a more sheer, malleable tint. They're also housed in a tube—think: a chic glue stick—for easy and mess-free application.

Let me start by saying the formula is super lightweight and buildable with a perfect amount of pigment. One swipe gives me a gorgeous natural flush, but because I like a blush that pops, I typically opt for two to three swipes. Then, I use a foundation brush to tap it in for a smooth, diffused finish. The formula is infused with skin-loving ingredients like peptides and tamanu oil for a hydrating and dewy look and feel.
In addition to the formula, the pocket blushes have great packaging. I love stick applicators for makeup. Albeit a bit bulky considering the size of the inner blush, this stick allows me to swipe on and layer the product. All this being said, so sorry to Mrs. Bieber, but I don't plan on toting them around in my pocket. I find them too big to carry for touch-ups, so to keep the color strong all day, I apply the blush after I've set my base with powder and top it with powder blush and setting spray.

Piggy
Piggy is the lightest shade of pink blush that I've ever liked. Often, they read ashy on my complexion. But this cool-toned shade melts into my complexion for a bright and refreshing look.
Juice Box
If you see me this summer during the day, I'll be wearing this blush. It's the perfect fun and flirty hot pink that really pops.
Spicy Marg
Since margs aren't really my vibe, catch me sporting this blush whilst sipping a Campari spritz. It's a pretty coral that, thanks to the inclusion of titanium dioxide, reads soft instead of neon, like many other corals.
Freckle
Freckle is a super-pretty peachy neutral. In addition to orange tones, it's got strong pink undertones, yielding a soft and flattering shade. It's the perfect pick for people who don't like blush but want to like blush.
Sleepy Girl
I can see myself leaning on Sleepy Girl in the fall and winter when I want to add more muted shades back into my rotation. It's a stunning mauve shade.
Toasted Teddy
Toasted Teddy is giving the perfect post-beach, bronzy glow. It's my favorite shade for evening events when I want a smoky, sultry look.
