How could anyone pass up that $163-off Tory Burch bag?
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I think it bears repeating: I’m picky. I’m picky about the things I do, I’m picky about the people I surround myself with, and I’m picky about the things (ahem, like clothes) I let into my home. After years of living in a small one-bedroom apartment in New York City, surrounded by many, many people, I’ve become very selective and particular about how I spend my time and money. If you live in the Big Apple, I know you know what I mean.
My pickiness has seeped into every part of my life, but where I’m most particular is with my clothing, shoes, and accessories. When I was younger, I’d go to the mall after school and be sucked into any store with a “SALE!” sign hanging outside—hey, I was naive and had a limited budget. But, that led me to buy so many things I wore only once; eventually, I stopped buying just to buy something on sale, and really thought long and hard about my purchases.
Don’t get me wrong: I still shop sales. In fact, I only shop sales because it’s the smartest way to shop. Luckily, the Fourth of July weekend surprisingly has so many standout deals on brands I’d anyway shop. Below, check out all of the holiday weekend deals that even I, an über picky fashion editor, is adding to her cart.

- 7 For All Mankind Lustre Scout Oversized Straight Jeans, $174 (Originally $248)
- J.Crew Gwyneth Pleated Slip Skirt, $47 with code EXTRA (Originally $128)

M.Gemi the Mafalda Sandal
Orig. $198 $125 at Mgemi.com
When I say I’m an M.Gemi fan, I mean like hardcore, follow-on-every-social-platform type of fan. I wore the brand’s shoes to my NYC civil wedding ceremony (more on that soon) and gifted my mom, who’s also picky about shoes, the brand’s famous clogs—of course, she fell in love. I’d trust the brand with my life (err, feet), and that’s why I’m 100 percent making these on-sale sandals mine.
7 For All Mankind Lustre Scout Oversized Straight Jeans
Orig. $248 $174 at 7forallmankind.com
I’ve been wearing 7 For All Mankind for pretty much my entire life—my love for the label goes back to middle school. I felt invincible upon wearing a pair of 7’s, and still do to this day. Whenever the brand has a sale, I make sure to refresh my denim drawer with a new style, and right now, I’m head over heels for these super wide-leg jeans. I plan on wearing them all summer long with an itty-bitty crop top—hey, it’s all about proportions!
J.Crew Gwyneth Pleated Slip Skirt
Orig. $128 $47 at Jcrew.com
I swear by pleated skirts; the style is ultra elegant and chic, which makes it dressy enough to wear to the office, but also, the ample sway that makes it an ideal comfy piece for hot, humid summer days. I’ve been eyeing this J.Crew midi for a minute now, so imagine the grin on my face when I saw how much it was discounted. I’ll be wearing this all season long with everything from white tees and sneakers to fitted bodysuits and kitten heels.
Tory Burch McGraw Camera Bag
Orig. $298 $135 at Toryburch.com
When Tory Burch has a sale, I’m the first one there—well, virtually. The brand’s online sales are simply not to be missed, and neither is the label’s famous camera bag. A forever piece I’d still get at its regular $298 price, you best bet I’m making it mine right now while it’s more than $100 off during Tory Burch’s Fourth of July sale.
Rag & Bone Avery Denim Maxi Skirt
Orig. $295 $112 at Nordstrom
I spend 99 percent of the summer in skirts—my closet is filled to the brim with various styles, including pleated, mini, maxi, and silk fabrics, but when I saw this Rag & Bone denim piece, I texted my mom who works at Nordstrom and asked, “Have you seen this skirt IRL?” She hadn’t, but just like me, she was in love with the style’s long hemline, high slit, and versatile dark wash. I’m pairing this with crisp white sneakers all summer long.
