That said, as a golden rule, Stein notes that when it comes to white bottoms, “nude underwear is best, and typical denim that is more cotton than anything else is less see-through.” 
3. Check the stitching. This comes down to personal preference, but Stein says she always checks the stitching on a white pair of jeans before she commits to the purchase. “I try not to have my clients buy white denim with a colored/brown stitch,” she tells InStyle. “It turns it into a trendy pair instead of a classic pair.”
