Beyoncé’s pursuit of high-fashion rodeo-chic persists, with recent sightings of the superstar in vintage Versace leather, Maximilian Davis’s sleek Ferragamo suiting, and gorgeous pieces from Chemena Kamali’s debut Chloé collection–all accessorized with her now trademark cowboy hat. But denim has also taken the spotlight in Bey’s wardrobe (standout moments include Y-Project’s cut-out jeans paired with a Marine Serre jacket and a stylish McQueen miniskirt and jacket set by Seán McGirr). Beyoncé’s latest appearance only cements the “Levii’s Jeans” singer’s current obsession with the fabric.
An Instagram post from her trip to Japan finds the pop icon wearing a baby-blue LaPointe floor-length denim coat with faux fur sleeves, complemented by matching hot pants and slouchy over-the-knee stiletto boots. She accessorized with a pale blue sheer crew-neck top, a brown leather belt, and a brown leather bolo tie. Instead of a cowboy hat, this time Beyoncé opted for a beehive updo – perhaps a nod to her loyal “Beyhive” fan base.
As Act II: Cowboy Carter continues to dominate the charts, speculation around a potential tour (a follow-up to the phenomenon that was Club Renaissance) is mounting–and Beyoncé appears to be leaning in with her Western-inspired wardrobe. Perhaps we can look forward to a couture-ified iteration at the Met Gala next week…Watch this space.
